London’s job market increased dramatically during May compared with the same period last year according to new figures.
The numbers, coming by way of headhunter Robert Walters, showed that job volumes in the UK shot up 21% year-on-year last month. This comes after an uncertain period in the wake of the Brexit result last June.
“Despite ongoing uncertainty over the future of Britain’s relationship with the European Union and the upcoming general election, employers are maintaining a ‘business as usual’ approach, with demand for professionals in financial services remaining strong,” said Chris Hickey, chief executive of Robert Walters UK, Middle East and Africa.
The increase came across a number of fields within the financial services sector, particularly in projects and legal specialists which saw 22% and 54% rises respectively.
